Resting Circle
Resting Circle is an online, monthly gathering space for slowing down, breathing, grounding and softening into.
It's a gentle space to build restorative, healing practices together in community.
During our spaces, we will be exploring the textures and rhythms of our breath and bodies. We may use somatic practices, self-reflection exercises, soothing touch, and self-compassion meditation practices to support us consciously decelerating.
Our experience is open to all. We invite you to bring:
Comfort and support: a photograph of a loved one or soothing object
Reflection tools: a journal and pen
Softness: blankets, cushions and wear something comfortable
Fragrance: candles and incense
Hydration: water or tea

Kind words from our community:
“Thank you so much for this Poonam, this was so soothing that I spaced out for a second and felt like I was in another world. I’m leaving with the awareness of how I want the next 3 months to look like as I leave my job tomorrow and transition into a full-time business owner.”
“I’m leaving feeling more at peace and accepting of where my body and mind is at right now, and drawn to rest.”
“I often feel drawn to illustrate after peaceful sessions like this so I thought I'd share the delicate piece that appeared this evening. Thank you for sharing your light and love.”
“I'm leaving with more space, more clarity, and more forgiveness. I'm also leaving with the desire to come back to this space, and to create more spaces like this in my life.”
“I’m leaving with more peace and perspective.”
“Thank you Poonam and the others in the circle. I am leaving here with a renewed connection to my higher self. Feeling supported and nourished by the circle.”
“I'm leaving feeling calmer and safer as I felt in a rush and anxious before, thank you.”
Space guidelines:
The session will run for approx 30-45mins, we will hold the space for 60mins to allow decompression, reflection and integration.
Allow your eyes to rest by looking away from the screen - you don’t need to show attention by looking at the screen.
Connecting to our bodies and breathe can sometimes surface feelings, and emotions. You may realise this type of grounding isn’t supportive for your needs. Please listen to what you need and pay attention to what feels good and safe in your body.
Trust your pacing and feel into your capacity. You do not have to engage in any movements or reflections, you are welcome to sit and soften in silence.
We may occasionally play gentle music in the background during movements or reflections.
Letting go of fixing and striving for perfection: Imagine that nobody in the room needs fixing, including yourself.
Kindness: Be kind to yourself, others, and our spaces.
Honour the sacred: Some sensations, experiences and feelings can’t be spoken or shared. Savour those precious moments and let them rest within you.
Please eat about 1hr/1hr 30mins before practice.
We do not tolerate any BS behaviour. We have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination, period. We welcome all bodies of culture and respect the diverse lived experience, nuances, and backgrounds of our community. There is no space for "-ists", "-isms", or "-phobias." We reserve the right to remove anyone from our space if they are causing harm in the space.
Closed captioning will be available. If there are any access needs you'd like us to consider for future sessions let us know.
This is a free community space, if you resonate with our offering and feel drawn to support our work and balance the energies of giving and receiving you can donate to us here.
If you need any additional support, have any questions or thoughts, please email Poonam on poonam@ysm8.co.uk
