Textures of Truth

Textures of Truth is an embodied pathway to self-discovery, healing and creative liberation.

Our six-week, creative programme will nourish and deepen, and re-awaken your connection to life. This doorway guides you to (un)learn, reorient and reconnect to the wisdom in our bodies, and the Shakti that interconnects us all together.

Textures of Truth, 2024 by Poonam Dhuffer

Does this sound familiar, m8?

  • You get lost in mazes of frustration with your ideas.

  • You’re fed up scrolling on social media for inspiration.

  • You’ve lost faith in your gifts.

  • You feel shame about sharing your creativity.

  • You struggle to start/finish creative projects.

  • You want a richer taste of life.

  • You’re yearning for more deeper, and wholesome connections with creative folks.

  • You’re ready to say yes and tune in deeper to your internal spaces.

In our journey, together:

You will unravel the knots of self-doubt, deepen your awareness to connect with the life force, experience awe and inspiration in everyday life, and discover the power of slowness. You will travel through tapestries of time, mystic realms of movement, and build an altar of love to support your healing process.

Each weekly session will be woven with threads of feeling, making, free-writing, drawing, silence, contemplation, prayer, movement, reflection, meditation, and collective sharing.

Imagine travelling with treasures of:

Textures of Truth, 2024 by Poonam Dhuffer

  • Your Textures of Truth: build an embodied practice of discernment by having direct somatic experiences where you will sense and feel into your body, instead of thinking about your feelings.

  • An embodied creative practice: re-awaken your imagination and dive deep through your mind-body connection.

  • An abundance of inspiration: stretching your imagination by experiencing your inner landscapes through your mind-body

  • Authenticity & self-confidence: discover radical ways of loving yourself and building a deeper connection to your creativity

  • Courage and resilience: lean into the unknown and harness the power that lays in failure.

  • Softness & strength: focus on the aliveness of what emerges instead of judging, comparing or crushing them.

  • Deeper sense of self: discover what truly brings you joy and your felt-sense of aliveness.

  • Slow spaciousness: release urgency and cultivate slower rhythms in your life

  • Spiritual practices to support your healing process: uncover the power of building a sacred altar, prayer and silence.

  • Community and Connection: nurture relationships with like-minded individuals who are on a similar journey of self-discovery and creative self-expression.

How we will create this transformation together :

The foundation of this pilot programme is rooted in slow, bottom up processing and experience first. The classes will be woven with feeling, making, free-writing, drawing, silence, contemplation, prayer, movement, reflection, meditation, and collective sharing.

We allow things to gently land, unravel, emerge and unfold open to take up space. We release the notions of urgency, goals, and perfectionism. We allow ourselves to be an evolution in progress.

Our intention is to trust the flow and be present in the process, not to strive on creating a "perfect" outcome.

During our six weeks together, we will explore the pilot programme curriculum below.

Programme curriculum

 ✨Week 1 (JUNE 4th) : Slow Pleasures

How can we make space for slow pleasures? What do we notice? What is in this space, here?

You will explore the sensations of slow, wholesome and soft pleasures as we connect to our moment to moment experience. Our bodies will be a map of inspiration for us, as you create spaciousness to journey through the constellations of sensations. You will gently be slowing down, noticing glimmers around us, and building a gathering practice.

✨Week 2 (JUNE 11th): Unravelling the Spiral

What is the shape of self-doubt? What does our overthinking stop us from creating? What lays on the edges of unknown?

You will be unravelling the knots of self-doubt, unpicking the voices of your inner critic and blocked emotions that hold you back from connecting with your creative flow. Through playful interventions, we’ll explore our internal unknown universes and unravel the spirals of erosion. You will make space to soften the hard edges, and learn from the wisdom of your body-mind connection.

✨Week 3 (JUNE 18th) : Mystical Movement

How does sound, movement and gesture shape our creativity? What do we discover in the layers of movement? What vibrations support our process? How do you leave space for emergence?

By opening our bodies to spontaneity and playful flow, you will explore the rhythms of intuitive movement, expressive mark making and moving blocked energy. Freeing the flow in your body. You will reconnect to the intuitively explore the shapes of scarcity, abundance, joy, pleasure and freedom. You will learn and discover global sounds and explore the connection of our bodies with tender, loving gazes.

 ✨Week 4 (JUNE 25th) : Failure as a Doorway

What is the texture of failure? What wisdom does failure hold for us? What waits for our arrival through the doorway? What is unknown inside?

Failure is a source of inspiration and vital part of the making process. You will re-imagine new ways of reconnecting to failure. You will explore spontaneous play, celebrate cycles of order and chaos, allowing yourself to fully express what has been hiding inside - leaving logical sense at the door.

✨Week 5 (JULY 2nd) : Tapestries of Time

What stories are stitched in our hearts? What memories weave in our bodies? How do we orientate ourselves in time? What songs have imprinted into you? As you breathe in that time, what sensations do you notice? How can we explore our bodies as a treasure chest of inspiration?

You will explore woven memories of time, gathering inspiration from past, present and future. You will travel through time collecting textures that have nourished your soul, soothed your heart and anchored you. By reflecting on these cherished experiences, you will weave a reflection of time.

✨Week 6 (JULY 9th) : Sacred Altar of Love

How do we connect to love as a daily practice? Where do we find courage and faith, when all feels lost? What rituals of rest will you cultivate going forward? How would it be to yield and rest, here? What gold have you collected along your journey?

As we close our time together, you will explore the power of the potency of prayer, restorative daily rituals, and gather our Textures of Truth to lay and rest in the richness. You will discover how to offer your creative practice as a prayer to the Divine/ Nature/ God. You will learn how to grow your sacred altar of love and trust the process unfolding. You will leave with a renewed connection and deeper sense of life - ready to receive the vibrancy and potency of freedom in your soma.

Meet your texture archaeologist guide, Poonam

Sat Sri Akaal Ji, Hello m8! Poonam here! I am a somatic coach, mixed-media- artist, creative facilitator, texture archaeologist and human in progress. Think of me as your fellow traveller and personal chef, rustling up a nourishing and vibrant feast for your senses.

I know what it feels like to overthink ideas, the hold shame has on our creativity and feeling anxious and disconnected in my body.

I also know the power of building a creative practice has given me courage to stand in my truth, say no without feeling guilty, and take up the space I deserve.

My artistic practice explores threads of textures of home/constellations of time and connections/ roots of belonging / layers of longing / discovery of sacred dimensions / slow sanctuary / collective consciousness.

What curious folk are saying:

“Our work felt radical and healing. I'm feeling more confident in my practice and have learnt (and re-discovered) so much about myself as an artist and woman. The session felt powerful as it helped to reflect on my processes and methodologies with someone who genuinely understands how important they are for me.”

— Artist

“Our members felt entirely supported by Poonam through the session, and this was a rare occasion for creative-led wellbeing and encouragement which did not focus on 'the grind'. A rare and much needed space for reflection, encouragement and realising that you are indeed on the right journey.”

— Senior Project Manager, Metal Arts

“Poonam’s sun-like energy supported me through the process. Her capacity to hold what is and value it and see it for its richness is healing to experience in itself. I felt a deep sense of being seen and validated in my existence. Being seen as a poet and an artist without needing to justify anything, too.”

— Poet & artist

“Poonam was absolutely flawless in every way. She held the space with innate charm and gravitas, and created a space which allowed people to share openly and vulnerably.”

— Account Director, Saatchi & Saatchi

Space and Participation Guidelines

    • Respect time: allow yourself enough time to join our sessions promptly. Late arrivals disrupt the flow of the session and space. I will not accept late joiners 10 minutes after the session has begun.

    • Show up live: for the group experience, it’s vital you attend all the live sessions.

    • Cameras on: one of the key aspects of facilitating an embodied space is that I need to see your faces and body languages to sense the space and attune to the somatic information that comes from body language. I kindly ask you to keep your cameras on, you are welcome to switch off for a short time, for instance if you need to pop to the loo, make a cuppa, grab a snack.

    • Share your reflections either just with me or the group for your integration process.

    • I will gratefully appreciate a testimonial two-weeks after our journey ( this can be written or recorded, both are most welcome.)

    • If you are unable to attend more than two live sessions, I invite you to join a future cohort, the next one will run in Autumn 2024.

    • Creative tools: crayons, coloured pencils, paints, scissors, paper etc

    • Comfort and support: a photograph of a loved one or soothing object

    • Reflection tools: a journal and pen

    • Space : to lay down and move freely

    • Softness: blankets, cushions and wear something comfortable

    • Fragrance: candles and incense

    • Hydration and snacks: water, tea, coffee, snacks

    • Privacy: to speak openly, share and listen

    • Turn up as you are. All of you is welcome as you are.

    • Allow your eyes to rest by looking away from the screen - you don’t need to show attention by looking at the screen.

    • Trust your pacing and feel into your capacity. You do not have to engage in any movements or reflections, you are welcome to sit and soften in silence.

    • Music and movement will be present in our spaces.

    • Connecting to our bodies and breath can sometimes surface feelings, and emotions. You may realise this type of grounding isn’t supportive for your needs. Please listen to what you need and pay attention to what feels good and safe in your body.

    • Trust your pacing and feel into your capacity. You do not have to engage in any movements or reflections, you are welcome to sit or lay down and soften in silence.

    • Letting go of fixing and striving for perfection: Imagine that nobody in the room needs fixing, including yourself.

    • Kindness: Be kind to yourself, others, and our spaces.

    • Honour the sacred: Some sensations, experiences and feelings can’t be spoken or shared. Savour those precious moments and let them rest within you.

    • Slow down: Attune to what is happening within you, breathe and pause. Feel the vibe of the space, sensations within your body, the rhythm of your breath

    • Self-focus: Share your own thoughts, feelings, observations, and experiences. Don’t speak for others or assume the experience of others.

    • Easy does it: Try not to pack too much into the rest of your evening. Allow spaciousness as the evening unwinds.

    • We do not tolerate any BS behaviour. We have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination, period. We welcome all bodies of culture and respect the diverse lived experience, nuances, and backgrounds of our community. There is no space for "-ists", "-isms", or "-phobias." We reserve the right to remove anyone from our space if they are causing harm in the space.

    • I, Poonam, will lead these workshops as a somatic coach, artist and creative facilitator.

    • It does not offer continuous 1-2-1 support, address trauma or mental health challenges.

    • I am a qualified somatic coach, a mixed-media artist and creative facilitator, with a deep interest in texture constellations, ceremony, ritual, prayer and the cycles of nature.

    • I will bring somatic facilitation to the workshop to enable you to explore meaning in what you create. My intention is to create a cosy cocoon and nourishing atmosphere and hope to provoke thought and a richer space for you to gain a new or deeper understanding of your inner world. You may share as much or as little as you like.

    • Our work is always an invitation. While we will be engaging in somatic practices, meditation and creative practice, this programme does not prevent, cure, or treat any mental health challenges or trauma.

    • Our programme will not be group therapy, and is not to be replaced for any therapeutic support you may already be receiving. You may, however, find it therapeutic.

    • Closed captioning will be available. If there are any access needs you'd like us to consider for future sessions let me know.

    • If you need any additional support, have any questions or thoughts, please email me, Poonam on poonam@ysm8.co.uk

    • You will also be able to direct message me via Circle.

FAQs

  • It’s vital for the group experience we are all holding the space as a collective. When you can’t make it live, it effects the vibration of the group experience.

If for any reason you are unable to join a session, please let me know before-hand - of course life is happening and things come unexpectedly.

Please do create the space in your diaries to ensure you are on time and available.

If you are unable to attend more than two live sessions, I invite you to join a future cohort, the next one will run in Autumn/Winter 2024 ( dates TBC)

  • Nope, not at all. You don’t need to be working on any creative projects. You don’t need to be a seasoned writer, painter or maker.

You simply need to be open-hearted and curious to see what emerges. My intention as a facilitator is to support you to feel abundance and joy in the creative process.

  • Due to the nature of this course. I don’t offer refunds, unless in exceptional circumstances. I am available to have a chat beforehand to answer any questions or thoughts before you sign up. You can email me directly on, poonam@ysm8.co.uk and I will get back to you within 48 hours. Please only sign up if you are ready and commitment to join us on this journey.
